There is a difference between good food fast, and fast food. I love knowing exactly what I am eating and what I am serving those I love. Every component of this sandwich, starting with the chicken, brings quality and flavor

The Source Matters

The star of this fully loaded and stacked crispy chicken sandwich is the chicken itself. When creating this Gluten Free Pretzel Crusted Honey Mustard Chicken I used chicken breast from Butcher Box.

Anyone that knows me well knows how much I love having food delivered right to my door, especially when it’s this high quality. Butcher Box allows you to pick from either their boxes, or customize your own box.

Their beef is all grassfed and finished, free of antibiotics and hormones, and pasture raised. There pork is raised completely crate free and without hormones or antibiotics. You can taste the difference.

Their chicken, like the chicken breast used in this recipe, is certified organic, free-range, and never given and antibiotics or hormones. They also carry seafood which is sustainably sourced and wild caught. This means you never have to worry about artificial coloring or additives.

Building Your Gluten Free Pretzel Crusted Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich

This sandwich is as easy as it’s delicious. Let’s break it down and take it step by step.

You will want to create three separate dredging stations. One for cornstarch, one for an egg wash, and one for your Gluten Free crushed pretzels. You can use your food processor to make the pretzel crumbs fine.

Preheat your oil so it’s ready to go once you have crusted your chicken. You want to heat it on medium heat so it isn’t hot enough to burn the pretzel crumbs. This is only a shallow pan fry so it won’t take long.

Next dip your chicken into the cornstarch, shaking off the excess, before going into the egg wash. The final step is dipping it into the pretzel crumbs. give the chicken a little press to ensure they’re hugging the chicken.

These fry up quickly because we’re using chicken that’s been pounded thinly. In the amount of time it’ll take them to cool slightly you can mix up your honey-mustard sauce. Use your favorite Dijon mustard for this since it’s the predominate flavor.

When it comes to toppings for your Gluten Free Pretzel Crusted Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich, I like to keep them as fresh as the chicken. Baby spinach and avocado add that refreshing note while crispy bacon and Dairy Free cheese give an extra savory bite. Have fun with it though!
