Gluten Free Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burgers

These over the top burgers ooze with the sweet and tangy flavor of barbecue in every bite. It’s not just about the toppings, it’s about the flavor in the burger themselves.

Making Your Burgers a Little Sweeter

I don’t know about you, but I think burgers should be fun and playful. These bold and flavor packed Gluten Free Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burgers pack a punch of flavor in every bite.

Let’s put the barbecue into these chicken burgers. When it comes to ground chicken, it’s such a great canvas for adding flavor. Not only is it a naturally leaner and healthier option, the ingredients you add stand out in a way that doesn’t always shine through with beef burgers.

For this recipe I am adding Outside Table’s Saturday Sweet. This sweet yet tangy tomato based sauce is certified organic. It’s also Gluten Free, using organic aminos, and completely free of high fructose corn syrup. In addition to being crafted in small batches, this sauce is free of preservatives and artificial flavors.

This sauce is so good it’s not just added to the chicken burgers, it makes for the perfect condiment to finish the burgers off. Because burgers are also all about the toppings.

To play up the Hawaiian flavors in these chicken burgers I am adding grilled pineapple slices. The natural sweetness of the pineapple pairs with the smoky, salty bite of bacon, and compliments the barbecue sauce. Every bite is an explosion of flavor and texture!

Building Your Gluten Free Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burgers

Let’s talk the basics of constructing these epic burgers. In just a few simple steps you’ll be sinking your teeth into this mouthwatering creation.

First, when it comes to mixing ground chicken, there are a couple easy tips to make sure they stay tender, moist, and decadent. This recipe calls for Gluten Free panko bread crumbs as well as oat milk. These will both provide moisture while also binding them together.

When it comes to mixing the burgers, be gentle. You want to mix until the meat is just combined. This will give you that tender bite and not overly compress the ground chicken.

Because we are using ground chicken in these Gluten Free Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burgers, you want to make sure that you cook them to temp. When it comes to ground chicken and poultry in general, you are looking to reach 165 degrees. A digital thermometer is a great tool for this.

I cover the pan in between flipping them. This will allow them to steam on the inside after searing them on the outside. This also helps keep them tender and juicy.

Make sure your pan is hot before adding your burger patties. You want to sear them so you get that beautiful crust as well as the texture it provides.

Have fun with your toppings! I added grilled pineaple, crispy bacon, and Dairy Free cheese. And of course extra Outside Table’s Saturday Sweet!
