Between the play of flavors with the chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and graham crackers, and also just how happy and fun they are, they’ve led me to create different variations and dishes I can give the total s’mores razzle dazzle. This might just be my new favorite.

When it comes to creating recipes sometimes it’s an ingredient or new product that guides me. The inspiration for this recipe started with Spiceology’s S’mores blend. That first finger dip immediately reminded me of the molten sticky chocolate, warm buttery graham crackers, and toasted sweet marshmallows. This blend would be amazing on popcorn…but we’re making puppy chow.

Puppy chow is to the sweet world what Chex Mix is to the savory. With a canvas of Gluten Free cereal, the sky, or toppings is really the limit.

For this recipe we’re using Cinnamon Chex. Think of it as your cinnamon graham cracker base. chocolate chips and Dairy Free sweetened condensed milk are melted together to create that ooey-gooey, luxurious sticky sauce. All good things start with sweetened condensed milk.

A shake in powdered sugar and the s’mores blend finishes it off. Except for the crowning glory of any and all s’mores…the marshmallows. In this case we’re using mini marshmallows. Feel free to measure them with your heart.

This Caramel S’mores Puppy Chow comes together fast and makes the perfect no-bake snack. It’s crunchy, chocolatey, and has all the classic s’mores flavor without needing a campfire. If you’re looking for an easy sweet treat for parties, movie nights, or holiday snacking, this recipe is a go-to.

  • Start by adding half of the chocolate chips and the sweetened condensed milk to a large microwave-safe bowl.
  • Warm the mixture in short intervals, stirring between each one, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  • Pour in the cereal and gently mix until every piece is coated in the chocolate-caramel mixture.
  • Let the coated cereal cool for about 15 minutes so the powdered sugar sticks well.
  • Sprinkle in the s’mores seasoning and powdered sugar, tossing until everything is evenly covered.
  • Add the remaining chocolate chips and the marshmallows, then stir to combine. You’ll end up with a crunchy, chocolatey s’mores mix that’s hard to stop snacking on.
  • Make sure to grab a handful for yourself — this disappears fast.

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz Chex Cinnamon cereal
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips, divided
  • 11.25 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp s’mores seasoning
  • Optional: extra melted peanut butter or chocolate drizzle

Instructions
 

  • Melt the chocolate + caramel mixture: Add 1 cup of the chocolate chips and the sweetened condensed milk to a large microwave-safe mixing bowl.
  • Microwave until smooth: Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is completely combined.
  • Coat the cereal: Add the cereal to the bowl and gently mix until the cereal is fully coated in the chocolate-caramel mixture.
  • Let it sit: Allow the coated cereal to sit for 15 minutes to slightly firm up. This helps the powdered sugar stick better.
  • Add powdered sugar + s’mores seasoning: Sprinkle the powdered sugar and s’mores seasoning over the bowl. Stir or toss until all the cereal is coated and no chocolatey spots remain.
  • Add mix-ins: Add the remaining 1 cup chocolate chips and the mini marshmallows. Stir to combine evenly.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container.
