THE DIP THAT DISAPPEARS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

Whenever I put this dip on the table, people immediately start asking what’s in it.
Maybe it’s the bacon. Maybe it’s the cheddar cheese. Maybe it’s because loaded baked potatoes are already one of the greatest comfort foods ever created.
Whatever the reason, this dip never lasts long. It’s creamy, cheesy, packed with flavor, and easy enough to throw together when you need a last-minute appetizer for friends, family, or game day.

I usually make an extra batch because one bowl is rarely enough.

    • Sour Cream: Adds tangy flavor that mimics a classic loaded baked potato.
    • Bacon: Provides smoky flavor and crispy texture throughout the dip.
    • Cheddar Cheese: Adds sharp, cheesy flavor that makes this dip irresistible.
    • Fresh Chives: Bring freshness and mild onion flavor.

    • Onion Powder: Enhances the overall flavor of the dip.
    • Parsley: Adds freshness and color.
    • Potato Chips: A classic choice for scooping up this creamy dip.

How To Make Loaded Baked Potato Dip

    • Allow the cream cheese to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps it blend smoothly and creates a creamy dip without lumps.
    • Cook the bacon until crispy, then transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate. Once cooled, finely chop the bacon into small pieces so every bite gets a little smoky flavor.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, parsley, chives, half of the bacon, and half of the cheddar cheese. Using a hand mixer, beat until light, fluffy, and completely smooth.
    • Spoon the loaded baked potato dip into a serving bowl and smooth the top with a spatula.
    • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and bacon over the top. Finish with additional fresh chives for color and flavor.
    • Serve immediately or refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Pair with potato chips, crackers, toasted bread, or fresh vegetables.

What To Serve With Loaded Baked Potato Dip

    • Potato chips
    • Kettle chips
    • Crackers
    • Pretzel crisps
    • Toasted baguette slices
    • Celery sticks
    • Carrot sticks
    • Bell pepper strips
    • Cucumber slices

    Top Tips

    • Allow the cream cheese to fully soften before mixing.
    • Cook the bacon until crisp for the best texture.
    • Freshly shred cheddar cheese for the best flavor.
    • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving if time allows.
    • Garnish with extra bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives just before serving.

    Storage

    • Store leftover Loaded Baked Potato Dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
    • Because this dip contains dairy products, freezing is not recommended as the texture may become grainy once thawed.
    • For the best texture and flavor, remove the dip from the refrigerator about 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
