Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Orange Tiramisu

It’s no secret how much I love tiramisu. It always reminds me of being in Italy. This Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Orange Tiramisu might be my new favorite version.

Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Orange Tiramisu

I love desserts that I can make ahead of time that only get better the longer they sit. The way all of the flavors meld together harmoniously, and everything softens and becomes one.

Classic with a Twist

I love taking classic dishes, such as tiramisu, and updating them not just to be Gluten and Dairy Free, but also updating and playing with their flavors. This Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Orange Tiramisu gives you everything you crave in a traditional tiramisu with the fresh bright burst of orange and richness of chocolate.

While many variations of tiramisu, including my Gluten Free Raspberry Pistachio Tiramisu require some cooking this dessert is completely no-bake. That means this dessert should come with a warning because it’s addictively good!

Unlike a traditional tiramisu, the Gluten Free lady fingers in this dessert are dipped in orange juice instead of coffee. Every bite bursts with that sunny happy flavor.

Orange also flavors the luscious creamy filling. Rich egg yolks, tangy Dairy Free cream cheese, coconut cream, and orange liquor are layered with decadent Dairy Free dark chocolate. You want to use your favorite chocolate in this recipe since it plays an important role.

I love that this dessert can either be layered in a casserole dish just as you would your traditional tiramisu. It can also be assembled in a trifle dish. The trifle variation will give you three layers while the baking dish will create two layers.

Assembling Your Gluten and Dairy Free Chocolate Orange Tiramisu

Pick out your favorite casserole or trifle dish, because that’s the hardest part of making this tiramisu. That, and sharing it!

  • Allow your Dairy Free cream cheese to come to room temperature. This will allow you to mix everything smoothly and keep it creamy.
  • This recipe calls for coconut cream. You only need the thick cream portion , not the liquid.
  • Mix all of your ingredients for the orange filling together until smooth, creamy, and luscious. A hand mixer works great for this.
  • Dip your Gluten Free lay fingers in orange juice. You just want to dip, you don’t want them to soak in there for long.
  • To assemble lay down a base of your orange filling. Sprinkle it with shaved chocolate. Top with the orange juice soaked lady fingers. Add another layer of the orange cream and more shaved chocolate. Repeat this process to create three layers for a trifle dish or two layers for a casserole dish. Top with your favorite Dairy Free whipped cream and grated chocolate.

It really is that easy! Now let’s make dessert!
