A Dreamy Getaway in Florence: Exploring Antica Torre Hotel and Delightful Culinary Adventures
There’s nothing quite like the allure of Florence – its rich history, captivating architecture, and culinary wonders make it an unforgettable destination. During our recent escapade, we had the privilege of staying at the charming Antica Torre Hotel, which served as the perfect base for our exploration. From luxurious accommodations to mouthwatering restaurants and hidden gems, our journey through Florence was a whirlwind of delight.

Antica Torre Hotel Accommodations
From the moment we stepped into Antica Torre Hotel, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff’s incredible friendliness left a lasting impression, and they went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. They even surprised us by allowing an early check-in, setting the tone for a fantastic trip.
The convenience of having transportation arranged from the Florence Airport was a game-changer. Instead of wasting time in lines, we were welcomed by a friendly driver who whisked us away to the hotel. The attention to detail made our arrival seamless and stress-free.

Our hotel room was nothing short of a dream. Spacious, comfortable, and adorned with all the amenities one could wish for, it was a haven to return to after a day of exploring. The generously sized bathroom was a true luxury, especially in comparison to other Italian hotels we’ve stayed in. The thoughtful touches – plush robes, cozy slippers, and a bag of delectable biscotti – made us feel like cherished guests.
One of the standout features was the rooftop bar and terrace. With breathtaking views that stretched across the entire city, it quickly became our go-to spot for cappuccinos and stunning sunsets. The comfortable outdoor furniture provided the perfect vantage point to savor every sip and bite, whether it was a pick-me-up cappuccino or a scrumptious cocktail accompanied by fresh bruschetta. And let’s not forget the irresistible combination of cocktails and potato chips – a dream come true!
The location of Antica Torre Hotel was unbeatable. Situated in a high-end area, we found ourselves within walking distance of Florence’s major attractions, making our sightseeing ventures both effortless and enchanting.
Culinary Adventures
No trip to Florence is complete without indulging in its culinary wonders, and we embarked on a gastronomic journey that left us delighted and satisfied.

- Ristorante Santa Elisabetta: Dressed to the nines, we ventured to this 2 Michelin Star gem for a culinary experience of a lifetime. Despite a slight adventure finding the location in the rain, the intimate ambiance and impeccable service set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Opting for the chef’s tasting menu, each dish was a work of art, meticulously prepared and bursting with flavors. The dim mood lighting added to the ambiance, allowing us to relish every bite of our 3 ½ hour dining extravaganza.
- Buca Mario: Known for its iconic bistecca, Buca Mario lived up to its reputation. The welcoming committee of waiters as we descended into the restaurant set the tone for impeccable service. The bistecca, cooked to perfection, was a highlight, accompanied by delicious roasted potatoes. The experience left us not only satisfied but also impressed by the attention to detail and warmth of the staff.
- Il Vezzo: This restaurant’s reputation for incredible food was well-deserved. The pappardelle bolognese was a revelation, ranking as some of the best pasta we’ve ever had. The simplicity and perfection of this dish stole the show, making Il Vezzo a culinary gem in its own right.
- Gusta Pizza Florence: In a city renowned for its pizza, Gusta Pizza stood out as the ultimate winner. With a perpetual line that spoke volumes about its popularity, the pizza here was a revelation. Even a non-pizza enthusiast like me couldn’t resist its allure. The secret? Impeccable ingredients and the unbeatable combination of flavors.
Indulging in pastries, gelato, and local snacks became a delightful routine. Sesame gelato emerged as a surprising favorite, promising a taste to remember. And, as we navigated the winding streets, stretchy pants became our saving grace for accommodating all the delectable treats.
Shopping and Romance

Florence’s charm isn’t confined to its daylight hours. The evenings brought the city to life in a magical way, with old buildings illuminated by soft lights. The sounds of opera-style singing outside a church added a touch of romance to our nightly strolls back to Antica Torre Hotel.
Private Exploration
To truly immerse ourselves in Florence’s history, we opted for a private tour guide. This intimate experience allowed us to ask questions and discover hidden treasures that a larger group might miss. As a couple on the move, we appreciated the flexibility of a private tour that catered to our curiosity and desire for a deeper understanding.

Our journey through Florence, centered around the splendid Antica Torre Hotel and its remarkable accommodations, left us with memories to treasure. From luxurious stays to culinary escapades that delighted our taste buds, every moment was a testament to the city’s charm and the hospitality we received. Florence, with its art, architecture, and culinary delights, will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
