Asheville, North Carolina – land of breathtaking views, craft breweries galore, and let’s not forget, the amazing food scene. From fancy farm-to-table eats to cozy tapas bars, this city has something for every kind of hungry adventurer. I spent some weekends exploring Asheville’s food scene, and let me tell you, my stomach is happy and my wallet’s a little lighter (but totally worth it!).
Posana
Posana is the first restaurant I book when we get to Asheville – it’s like a must-do for us! They have the absolute best mocktails in the city, seriously creative and refreshing.
And let’s talk about the food – their dinner lineup is incredible! They have tons of gluten-free and dairy-free options, so nobody has to miss out. Their menu changes seasonally, but their pork chop is always on there and it’s, hands down, my favorite.
Located right in the heart of downtown Asheville, Posana has a cozy and welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a special night out. We always leave feeling happy and full – and maybe a little tipsy from those delicious mocktails!
La Bodega by Curate
La Bodega by Curate is one of the Curate restaurants, and it’s a must-visit for any foodie couple. They have some of the most delicious bakery items you’ll ever find, especially their XUIXO. This Catalan fried pastry is filled with a dreamy cream and dusted with a sugary crust – it’s seriously addictive!
We always have brunch here when we visit Asheville. The service is impeccable, and the chef’s creative dishes are simple at first glance, yet packed with complex flavors that you’ll love. Don’t miss the pintxos – they’re like Spanish tapas, perfect for sharing and trying a variety of delicious bites.
Plus, downstairs they have a fantastic gift shop filled with Spanish pantry staples, so you can take a piece of Asheville’s culinary scene home with you. Located in the heart of downtown Asheville, La Bodega by Curate is the perfect spot for a romantic brunch or a delicious lunch date.
Corner Kitchen
Corner Kitchen is tucked away in a charming little nook of Asheville that Joe and I had never explored before. The whole area was super walkable, with cute shops and a friendly vibe. But the real star of the show was Corner Kitchen itself.
Their menu was incredibly inclusive, offering tons of gluten and dairy-free options alongside classic dishes. Joe, who has a sensitive stomach, was thrilled!
As for me, well, let’s just say dessert was a must. Their strawberry rhubarb bread pudding was, hands down, some of the best I’ve ever had.
Seriously, the warm, gooey bread with that tangy-sweet rhubarb was pure heaven. My dinner was just as impressive – creative and flavorful, with each bite a perfect harmony of tastes. Corner Kitchen is definitely a hidden gem, and I can’t wait to go back and explore more of their menu!
Chestnut
Located in the heart of downtown Asheville, Chestnut is a fun brunch spot with amazing menus that will have you drooling before you even walk in the door.
Their homemade tater tots are legendary – crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and begging to be doused in their house-made sauce.
But that’s just the beginning! Chestnut offers a fantastic spread for every palate, from fluffy pancakes and savory omelets to creative breakfast sandwiches and decadent eggs Benedict. The vibrant atmosphere, complete with exposed brick walls and warm lighting, sets the perfect scene for the perfect brunch experience.
Old Europe
Old Europe isn’t just a pastry paradise, it’s a haven for sweet tooths with all kinds of dietary needs!
Whether you’re gluten-free, dairy-free, or rocking a regular diet, they have something to satisfy your cravings. Their gluten-free chocolate cupcake is legendary – seriously, it’s like a tiny explosion of rich, decadent chocolate heaven.
And don’t forget the coffee – they brew up delicious cups that pair perfectly with any of their delectable desserts.
Plus, with comfy indoor seating and a charming outdoor patio, you can enjoy your sweet treat on the spot or grab some goodies to go. Located right in the heart of downtown Asheville, Old Europe is the perfect stop to indulge in a little post-dinner sugar rush or grab a sweet afternoon pick-me-up.
So next time you find yourself in Asheville, hungry and ready to explore, be sure to consult this list. Your stomach (and maybe your significant other) will thank you!

A cocktail would not make you “a little tipsy”! Obviously, the point of a ‘mocktail’ is that it has no alcohol!
