Ingredients

Pulled Beef

  • 2.5-3 lbs chuck roast
  • 1/2 cup banana pepper brine
  • 2 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 onions, diced large
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 32 oz beef stock
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 sprigs thyme
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Pulled Beef Cheesesteaks

  • toasted rolls
  • cheese sauce of choice

Instructions

Pulled Beef

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat with the olive oil.
  • Pat the chuck roast dry and season both sides of the meat with salt and pepper.
  • Add the chuck roast to the hot pan. Let the first side cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Flip it and allow the second side to cook another five minutes or until browned.
  • Add the onions and allow them to cook until translucent.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Cover the pot and carefully transfer it to the oven. Let it cook for 4-6 hours until it easily shred.
  • Allow to cool enough to handle and then shred with a fork.

Shredded Beef Cheesesteaks

  • Top your toasted rolls with the shredded beef. Drizzle cheese sauce over the top.
