Barbecue Glazed Shrimp

Sweet and tangy homemade barbecue sauce is combined with tender sauteed shrimp for a perfect weeknight meal.

  • 1 Sauté pan

Ingredients

Barbecue Sauce

Shrimp

  • 1 lbs shrimp, cleaned and peeled
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Barbecue Sauce

  • Mix together all of the ingredients for the barbecue sauce.
  • Add the sauce to a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Cook the sauce for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has slightly thickened.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • The sauce can be cooled and stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container until ready to use.

BBQ Shrimp

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil.
  • Add the shrimp in a single layer in the pan, careful not to crowd.
  • Cook the first side of the shrimp for 2-3 minutes, or until the sides are turning opaque.
  • Flip the shrimp and cook them another 2-3 minutes until they are pink.
  • Turn the heat off and add 1/3 cup of the barbecue sauce. Toss to combine.
  • Serve with rice and your favorite vegetable. Enjoy!
