Sweet and Salty
Is there any combination better than sweet and salty? Gluten and Dairy Free Not Fried-Fried Ice Cream satisfies all of your snacking dreams.
Whether you grew up with fried ice cream as a treat at your favorite Mexican restaurant or it was something to look forward to at the end of an Asian feast, it was usually something you ordered out. The combination of flash frozen balls of ice cream either battered or rolled into cinnamon laced corn flakes and then deep fried was always an event.
There’s no need to dirty up the kitchen and risk the burn of splattered oil. Skip the deep frying and with an easy and delicious hack, you will get that balance of crispy crust and cool dreamy ice cream.
The salty portion of this confection comes from Go Free Potato Chips. Not only is this dessert not fried, neither are the chips. Go Free cooks their potato chips with a Water-Air fried method. They’re preservative free and made with real potato slices. It’s totally okay to steal a few chips in the process of making this.

Heat a skillet over medium-low heat and add your Dairy Free butter and sugar. Stir until the butter is melted and the sugar is mostly dissolved. Add your potato chips and toss to fully coat them.
- Cool Down
Pour the potato chip mixture into a bowl and allow it to cool.
- The Scoop
Use an ice cream scoop to create 3″4″ balls. Roll the balls of ice cream into the potato chip mixture.
- Finishing Touch
Drizzle Dairy Free chocolate hazelnut spread over the top. Finish with Dairy Free whipped cream and a cherry.
Top Tip
All of the components of this dessert can be prepared as early as the day before! Your potato chip mixture can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container until you’re ready to make your not fried-fried ice cream.
